My mission is to treat the whole person, not just the discomfort or the illness, using Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Nutritional Counseling and Reiki. I aim to provide an open, safe, gentle & nurturing environment for each patient to relax and let the body, mind and spirit heal.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, San Francisco in December 2008. I am licensed by the California Board of Registration in Medicine to practice acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine and holds a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
While at ACTCM, I interned at both its Community Clinic and Auricular Clinic and also at California Pacific Medical Center’s Stroke Project and Physical Therapy Center, at Haight-Ashbury Free Clinic and Dr. Lifang Liang’s Fertility Clinic. I was also a Teaching Assistant for Yefim Gamgoneishvili, L.Ac Sports’ Medicine class, specializing in pain management.
In China, I studied with Dr. Wang Ju-Yi, one of modern China’s most respected scholars, teachers and practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine. Here I learned his theory of channel palpation using mainly distal points, giving me a deeper understanding of the interrelationship between organ and channel theory and leading to more precise diagnoses and more tangible clinical results.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business and Psychology from Northeastern University in Boston, graduating Magna Cum Laude. I am a Reiki Master of the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition and has traveled throughout Peru studying Incan Medicine.
I have had extensive experience working in Community Acupuncture, having worked at the Cambridge Community Clinic, Acupuncture Together in Cambridge, MA for three years treating acute and chronic pain, digestive issues, allergies, infertility, women’s issues, pregnancy, stress, anxiety, fatigue and depression. In 2013, I opened a new Community Clinic in Salem MA where I treated patients with similar issues.
I am currently training to be a doula, having begun my studies at the non-profit, village-based organization Bumi Sehat Foundation in Bali where I assisted in live births and performed acupuncture on the newborns.
